managing a nfl roster

To manage your roster, you must watch a lot of players in College, and hire people to do so. You have to fly around a lot to scout them, all 350. It includes all but 1 state, Alaska, to search for great talent. And sometimes, you draft a player for investments, because of all the hype that surrounds that person. For example, the browns take Johnny Manziel in the first round, yes first round! And they are just now about to let him get his first NFL start this week ironically. But while he was on the bench these several several weeks watching his team, he is in snickers commercials, and has the 7th ranked jersey sell. I think that could be a record for someone who has never started a game yet. But back to the point, thats one reason why people get drafted early.

Maintaining a team

In owning a football team, its more than just finances. You have to scout players that are finishing their college career, coming into the draft the next year. You have to hire people to scout them, give contracts to your "big name" or good players to make them stay, and its alot of work. Some people may not stay, and hurt your team badly. Say Cam Newton leaves the Carolina Panthers, well they have to draft a Quarterback that they are willing to risk to lead the Franchise. And also, if Cam stays and gets hurt, who's going to play Quarterback for him? And that's at all 18 positions.

In researching, this is what I've found.

While researching numbers in owning a NFL team, I found out that many teams are now worth atleast 1000 million dollars, which is a billion. Even the Chicago Bears, bought for a hundred dollars, is worth about $1.2 Billion. Imagine, George Halas bought the Bears for 100 dollars almost 100 years ago, and they are now worth 1.2 Billion. How much money do you think the Halas family now has. For me to own a team, I'd have to be basically, filthy rich now, but I can get even more rich off of owning the team. You have to spend money to earn money, basically.

Update to my 20% time

So far found out that some teams can cause  extremely high. Two teams in the NFL are more than 1000 million, give or take a few. Some teams sell regular seat tickets for $60+. The Patriots ticket prices are the highest, how ironic. Now, most owners that started owning a team recently have the highest prices to pay. In 1920, The Chicago Bears was bought by George Halas for about a one hundred dollars.. Also when you buy a team, you have to get them out of depth by sometimes billions of dollars.

For my 20% time, I will be taking over as a coach for the New England Patriots. They are already a good team, but I will have to manage them, and keep them good, financially and of course, winning. I will have to set prices, manage them, control the rosters, and all kinds of different things.
